Your Contributions Matter

Hey Wonderful People!
Don't ever let someone convince you that your contributions to a project don't mean anything.
I don't care how small your role is, it's important, otherwise you wouldn't be there.
When my daughter was small, about two years old small, there was a recliner in her room that I wanted to move into the living room. I managed to get it to the door, and then it got stuck!
I was in the hallway on one side of the chair and mu daughter was on the other side, inside her room.
She saw my dilemma, put her little hands on the back of the chair and pushed while I pulled on the chair from the front.
And voila! It was exactly the right amount of force that was necessary to free the chair from the door. I was so impressed with her and said, "Oh my gosh, you're so awesome!" She beamed at me with delight and pride.
She and I had our moment, right?
Later that afternoon, I excitedly told a family member about our adventure and what a big help my daughter had been... But the person poo-pooed on her efforts and said, "That baby didn't help you do anything, she's too small." And I looked the person and set them straight:
"First of all, my baby's amazing."
That's number one.
Number two, she absolutely DID help me.
I felt the force, I felt the push. The chair was stuck, it wasn't going anywhere. I needed help, and my daughter's strength was all the help I needed.
Just think, if I had allowed that person to get in my ear with whatever was going on with them that day, I might have allowed that negativity into my heart and through to my child.
My child who's in college, my child who is now one of the nicest people you will ever meet in this world. My child who knows boundaries, who understands her strengths, and who has no problem asking for help and giving it as well.
I want y'all to keep that story in mind because you are mighty, you are strong, and whatever room God puts you in, that's where you're supposed to be.
