The day goes on with you doing ALL the things. You find yourself rescheduling appointments, and again–putting off that vacation or activity you had decided you would do for you.
You constantly juggle and do–because that is who you are. Self care and prioritizing yourself seems like a pipe dream and a far fetched fantasy, and you just think you’ll get to it….sometime.
You know you need to take better care of yourself but you feel no joy in doing so.
Life is busy, and you were raised to believe that if you just ‘worked hard enough’ you’d figure it all out.

You can hear the waves and you feel the ocean breezes. Your mind keeps going back to what you left at home–but you are finally ready to put yourself first.

You are greeted by Retreat Organizer Lynita Mitchell-Blackwell with a warm hug and guided to your room to relax and settle into your beautiful private room.
When you’re ready, you’ll come to the main room, welcomed by “Auntie” Patience Mitchell with some delectable treats to hold you until dinner and TLC so you know you're "home" for the weekend and dearly loved.
You’ll meet 4 other women who are on a similar journey: to prioritize your needs and desires, and reset your mindsets as to what life can be like when you put YOU first.

​What Should You Bring
A spirit of openness, gratitude and thanksgiving: If you lose your luggage, you’re in luck, because the only thing you MUST bring is an attitude of gratitude. Be open to the release, blessings, and love we will share this weekend.

But I know you want a practical list, so here you go:

Friday
7pm - until... Meet, Greet, & Eat
​
We are in this together!
Plan to arrive at the Resort by 7pm, as dinner will be served buffet style.
Mrs. Patience has planned a wonderful feast for every meal, and what better way to meet and make new friends than over a great dinner!
​
We’ll then relax and watch the movie “What the Bleep Do I Know” together, and enjoy a peaceful night under the beautiful Georgia sky.
Get a good night’s sleep, as we have a lot of (good) work to do tomorrow!

Saturday
​
Begin with the end in mind.
We will begin the day at 7 am with an hour of breathing and meditation, our “Daily Breath”.
​
We will establish our positive intentions for the weekend to identify and heal our tender spots that, when touched, set us off on a never-ending cycle of stress and overachievement.
​​
We will then have breakfast at 8 am, once again prepared by our resident chef Mrs. Patience.
Once we finish breaking bread, we will move on to our first session.
​​
9am to 10:30am Session I - How Did We Get HERE?
Ladies, we have some serious unpacking to do, but before you unburden yourselves, Lynita will share with you how she got “HERE”.

Once we’ve completed the above exercises, Ms. Patience will give each of you a snack bag, and you will be free to rest and roam about the resort for two hours. There are beautiful walking trails and and of course the beach to explore - please do so.
Take this time to reflect on the information we shared, and all you learned about yourself.
We’ll meet back at 1 pm for lunch.

2pm - 3:30pm Session II - Where Am I Going?
​
We all have vision boards, and many of us have hosted or led others in creating them.
We’re all super successful, and have accomplished most, if not all, we’ve ever put our minds to. Nothing gets in our way.
The United States Postal Service motto was derived with US in mind:
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds”.

But… even THEY take vacations and scheduled breaks!
​
We don’t take breaks! We don’t vacation - TRULY put things down, leave our laptops home, and BREAK AWAY.
​
His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar advocates for monthly, quarterly, and annual vacations in his book Management Mantras.
As a highly educated man who now runs a multi-million dollar international non-profit called the Art of Living Foundation with centers in over 60 countries, His Holiness is a voice to be heeded.
He specifically states we, as managers and leaders, should take one long weekend a month; an entire week each quarter; and two weeks annually.
​

Once we’ve completed the above exercises, Ms. Patience will give each of you a snack bag.
Partner up, find a comfy place in the villa or outside in nature, and take 30 minutes to discuss your thoughts and feelings up to this point.
Then take the remaining 1 hour 30 minutes to journal about the day.
We’ll meet back at 6 pm for dinner, followed by Game Night!

What's a vacay without some FUN?! None that WE want any part of this weekend!
​
So multi-talented host Aqila Benjamin and "Game Mistress" Batryse Rollins will ensure we have plenty of fun to fill our hearts and make our bellies jiggle with laughter!
Together we'll create a time to remember forever!

Sunday
​​
It all starts with prayer.
8am to 9am Spiritual Lovefest
Today’s focus is the inner and outer work required to break away from limiting beliefs, prioritize YOU, and stay open and empowered once we depart.
​
We will gather to share a short and lively spiritual lovefest to consist of a sermonette by Rev. Dr. Rita Wright, singing, meditation and prayer.
We will then enjoy breakfast together at 9 am before our sessions begin.
​​
10am to 11:30pm Session III - Time to Flush
We do things because we like them.
Well, not necessarily the thing itself, but the results.
-
We workout because we want tight bodies.
-
We study because we want a degree.
-
We work to get paid.
-
We serve to feel good and be recognized.
-
We volunteer to make life better for others and enjoy the sense of fulfilment such work brings.

All this doing brings attention, and with attention comes responsibility and expectation.
It’s time to drop both in honor of your aggregate intellectual health quotient (AQ).

Once we’ve completed this session, Ms. Patience will give each of you a snack bag and you’ll have 45 minutes to decompress.
You’ll each receive an adult coloring book, and use it to reduce the cortisol (stress) hormone in your bodies because working through stress is stressful!
You’ll then use the remaining 30 minutes to enjoy the peace of the outdoors or rest inside quietly.

We’ll return back at 12 pm for lunch.

1pm to 2pm Session IV - Nowhere to Go But UP
We’ve released a lot of tension, forgiven a number of hurts, identified people and obligations that no longer serve us.
​
Now it’s time to cement our practices so they continue to bless and protect us as we go forth:

After the completion of this session, we will take a break to reflect.
Take your journals, and in a quiet corner inside or outside, reflect on your thoughts and feelings.
Be raw and uncut.
During this time, Lynita will sit with each of you individually to create your game plan on what has to go, what (and who!) gets to stay, and next steps.
We’ll reconvene for dinner at 4 pm.

After dinner, you may pack up and head home, or you may stay the night. If you chose to stay, check out is at 8 am.

We’re packing A LOT in three days, and want to ensure it sticks.
Therefore, we’ll have bi-weekly Zoom calls to ensure we all stay on track.
Remember, we’re here because we know we’re stress bunnies, and need to change the behaviors that turned us into these hyped-up energizer-fueled versions of ourselves.
It’s one thing to be busy with purpose and vision.
It’s another to be all over the place and falling apart with health ailments, broken relationships, and pain.
